living in miami's tropical climate makes it possible to celebrate almost every holiday with fireworks ... !! (growing up in the north, new years eve fireworks were unheard of!!) but let's pay tribute to the biggest and baddest time to get out and see the sky light up, the 4th of July!
the people in miami in particular, love to celebrate independence day because most of the population is not from the United States and it was their dream to come here! at almost any location fireworks can be seen, shooting into the air from multiple directions; downtown/bayside, south beach/the beach/sobe, and sidestreets/alleys.

with nightly summer degrees in the mid eighties, the night is a great time to get out and explore. this is particularly easy if you adopt the beach lifestyle by driving a scooter, bike or skate. (that is another blog altogether) i do add a word of caution to beware of parking close to the guys on crotch rockets, some big motor heads don't understand the practicality of saving space ;)
